Marrakech these days is one of the trendiest destinations. It got a good reason to be popular, which dates back to 70’s, when famous Yves Saint Laurent has brought a property here and opened the city to the world. Lots of celebrities of that time came here and have spend some time. Rolling Stones are among them. Recently Marrakech was featured as a location for one of the Sex and the City movies (but it was Abu Dhabi, though everything was filmed in Marrakech) and now it’s one of the obligatory places to visit for every Insta-girls!

Anyway, YSL heritage here is almost the most popular sight in Morocco. There is a street named in his honour, famous Jardin Majorelle, which he has bought to protect and recently opened Musee Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech. Now there are 2 museums dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent art: one in Paris and one in Marrakech. It is not very big, but it showcase some of his best works, tells the story of an artist and his career and generally got very cool architecture. I felt really lucky that i came here after it was opened as it is definitely a place that i want to see!

Hint: There are huge lines to enter Jardin Majorelle, you can buy your entrance tickets at the Musee Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech (they have combined tickets and separate entrance tickets). It will save you tons of time.

At night we had an awesome spanish tapas-style dinner at @movenpickmarrakech. Their new restaurant with Spanish chef has done a great job and brought real (not inspired, but real) Spanish cuisine to Marrakesh.
