I always wanted to spend my summer traveling around Europe! Now it’s time to make it! I know this part of the world pretty well, but still there is always a lot more left to see and do!
My first idea was to explore Spain for extended time. I even bought my plain tickets. But after i started to plan it in details i realized that it will be too expensive and it doesn’t make any sense. So i decided to change my route not changing basic idea. So next months expect stories how to spend good summer time in Europe without breaking the bank.
When i have an opportunity for a long full day layover in Amsterdam i couldn’t resist! You know, it’s always good idea to spend a day in Amsterdam!
There is always something new and spring is extremely great here! I arrived early and the city was almost empty, so i had couple of hours to browse it without the crowds.
Later i headed to Westerkerk. My main goal was to climb it’s bell tower and see the city from the top. It is possible to do it with half-hour guided tour for 8€. Each tour is limited to 6 people, but i have no problem to get to one of them, just waited for some time with the cup of coffee. And the views were so great! Absolute reccomend!
My next stop was the exhibition of Banksy works, which was very cool and i loved it even more, than i expected. He is talanted and hard working guy, who have found his way and became modern day top artist, who prove some modern principles of publicity before they became mainstream.
To make this warm sunny day even more perfect, i decided to have a picnic at the Volden park. Nothing fancy: cheese, bread, jamon and red wine from plastic cups right in the grass. But it tastes and feels so right!
Definetely great day!
