Rule: never miss food while being in Thailand. Markets are the best source of good and cheap foods, which sometimes can be more than just food. To get the most of it today I had a food tour to Bangnamphung Floating market with local expert EatWalkTalkTour.
This market is not big tourist attraction, but was initially made as opportunity for local producers to sell what they grow. Really good thing about it is that it’s not filled with tourists, but got lots of good food and extremely friendly merchants. Definitely great market, even though it is not very easy to find it.
We started our day with quintessential Bangkokian experience: to get there in the most efficient way we took sky train, tuktuk bus, ferry and bicycle. Absolutely fun and mind blowing way to understand how the city works.
After getting there we started to browse around market, eat and try a bit of everything: coconut dessert in banana leaf, sweet shrimps, oysters in fried egg, fishballs, grilled squid, kings beans dessert, spicy sausage, banana chips, noodle soup, Thai tea, coconut ice cream and more. Everything tasty and interesting.
I saw some of this dishes before, but never tried most of them, so having someone explaining what is what makes things much easier.
Once again, thanks EatWalkTalkTour for this cool experience!
